2D - Changing Mood Animation

A very simple 2D animation.
A 5-minute-sketch drawn using white chalk on a tiny desk-blackboard.
Animated in Adobe Flash.
I made this animation just for fun.

VFX - Visual Effects For Animation II

This lesson is getting more interesting.
VFX allow our movie to be presented with better impact.
Some effects are really helpful in producing film, especially animation film.

Here's a simple video I made using "Frame Freeze" effect.

Here's another video I made using "Matchmoving" effect which involve 3D model in real footage.
I also apply "Matte Painting" effect to the cracked ground.
This could be very helpful and time-saving effect in every animation produced.

Lastly, it's Hafizi(as mentioned in earlier post) looking at cloudy sky(using "Sky Replacement" effect).
Definitely recommended to use this one in any possible animation scene.

3D - Classic Bouncing Ball

Here's another classic bouncing balls animation I created using Autodesk Maya.
This assignments is to study the difference of stretch & squash between characters.
Each individual character have different mass and volume.
Accomplished.

STOP-MOTION - Mr Tally's Outfit

Well, in this post I will continue from where I left off from the last post.
After finished constructing the basic structure of Mr Tally, now it's time for his outfit.
To avoid unnecessary waste on budget, I recycled some usable fabrics from old clothes.

After I found the suitable fabric, I get the measurements needed for Mr Tally.
Then I roughly cut the cloth accordingly to the rough measurements.

Before I proceed to the exact measurements, I took sometimes to modify the cloth.
I re-design the pattern of the cloth using marker pen.

Finished with the custom pattern drawing, I proceed to mark the exact measurements of Mr Tally.
Basically, the exact measurements is marked by attaching to the character as shown below.

I do learn a lot of sewing technique from a friend of mine, Mr Hafizi who is a professional tailor.
Last but not least, here's a detailed hand-made finishing - by the touch of the professional.
Thanks Piji.

SFX & BGM - Being a part of NAI

I was given a golden opportunity to work with a group of 3D & VFX filmmakers.
They call themselves NAI.
I was hired to be a part of the team as audio composer.
My role as a part of this production taught me a lot in working as teamwork.

Enjoy.

STOP-MOTION - Mr Tally's Basic Structure

As promised, in this post I will share with you the puppet-making of "Mr Tally".
By referring to the character turnaround as shown in previous post, I made one color scheme.

This illustration above is made to be used as reference for puppet-making purpose only.
From the illustration, I decide the material I will use for the puppet.
I decided to modify my own action figure collection into Mr Tally.

This is an action figure I bought years ago from a secondhand toys shop.
The original character is "Angel" from "Xmen" series.
I chose this character because it's ability to adjust the most of the main body parts.

Firstly, I apply paper clay and masking tape to the abdomen to add the volume of the body.
I also cover the whole head with clay to reconstruct the face of Mr Tally.

So, this is the basic structure of Mr Tally.
Some body parts are left without covered by clay to avoid complication in movement.
That's all for this post, I will update the making of Mr Tally's outfit in the next post.

VFX - Visual Effects For Animation

So today I learn some Visual Effects skills for use in my animation.
Visual effects (VFX) is used to create a better impact in you animation.
With VFX, you don't have to create real elements such as smoke, fire and many more during shooting progress.

Here is some VFX lesson that I've been working on.
