STOP-MOTION - 15 Seconds For Demoreel

After a lot of pain killer, I finally finished shooting the stop-motion.
There's so much of re-take and editing.
I almost give up.
Thank god, I'm still alive.
Here's a 15 seconds sneak peak of the animation.
Enjoy!

InsyaAllah I'll share the full animation someday.
Til then, Assalamualaikum.

STOP-MOTION - Shooting In Progress!

Done with setting up the background, my next biggest step in producing this stop-motion is shooting/animating.
Unlike classical animation method, animating in stop motion animation done manually by reposition the scenes and shooting.

I divided the shooting session into about 8 scenes.
I shoot the scenes accordingly to the story board scene by scene.

Some scene are difficult to shoot because of the instability of the puppet/props.
I edited & crop the unnecessary part in photoshop.
If necessary, I re-shoot the whole scene.

That's it for now, See you in the next post.

STOP-MOTION - Mr Tally's Set Background (+BONUS Time-Lapse Video)

So I decided to design my own background for this short film using matte painting.
I had to paint digitally and print it out to save cost on arcrylic.
So after spent hours on finding the perfect picture for the background, this is the best picture I could get;

The original picture is downloaded from Galleryhip.com Galleryhip.com.
I edited the original image in Adobe Photoshop.

Firstly, I removed every unnecessary part in the image.
It takes a lot of patience when messing up with lasso & clone stamp tools.

And this is the final image that I painted digitally.
Then I printed the large size image on canvas.

Before the setup takes place, I use spray mount to make the canvas sticky(but removable).
I use spray mount to avoid permanent stain from glue.

Finally, this is the time-lapse video that I've made during the setup of "Mr Tally" stop-motion sets.
Enjoy.

STOP-MOTION - Mr Tally's Props

In this post, I will share on how I make the props in this animation.
Almost every props in this short animation is fully handcrafted by me.

Rocking Chair

The making of rocking chair as shown above involves a lot of iron wire.
I shaped the iron wire neatly and apply acrylic to get the "rattan" texture.

Vase & Plants

The making of the plants in the garden has many steps.
As shown above, firstly I make the vase using paper clay.
Then I left them dry for a night before I proceed to colour them with acrylic.
While waiting for the acrylic to dry, I make the plants using plasticine.
And finally this is the plant;

SFX & BGM - Being a part of Hashtag Studios

I was given a golden opportunity to work with a group of talented students of MMU(Cyberjaya).
They call themselves Hashtag Studios.
What's even better this time, I was hired to be the official Film Score Composer of the team.
My role as a part of this production taught me a lot in working as teamwork.

Enjoy the cutscenes of "Gemini";

2D + CUTOUT - "Pacmale"

"Pacmale" Short Animation is a parody of the legendary game, "Pacman".
This short animation is made for my Final Year Project (Diploma in Animation).
The medium used in this animation is both 2D and Cutout animation.
Both medium is animated in Adobe Flash.
This project is an individual task.
Hence, the animation is fully directed & produced by me.

Enjoy.
